Open the Mobility for Jira app, navigate to Profile > Settings > Notifications. Select the Jira events for which you would like to receive Push Notifications. You can select as many as you like and change your selection at any time. Confirm your selection by tapping the Done button. Congratulations, you are all done! If you like to test Push Notifications, make sure you use a second account to trigger the notification, as you won’t receive notifications for changes made by your own account.

Jira Server Firewall Settings

Push Notifications are sent from your Jira server to the Apple APN Gateway to be delivered the devices. Please make sure your Jira server can send out TCP packets to gateway.push.apple.com on port 2195 and that they aren’t blocked by your firewall.

For Android devices, the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) service is used. Your Jira server needs to be able to make outbound calls on ports 5228, 5229, and 5230. GCM typically only uses 5228, but it sometimes uses 5229 and 5230. GCM doesn’t provide specific IPs.

Note

Make sure you have the latest version of the Add-On installed on Jira Server or Datacenter. The add-on includes certificates that are needed to communicate with the Push Notification gateway. If the add-on version is too old, notification might not work any longer.
